Education training and experience are required at different levels for success in different occupations.

High school (GED), plus on-the-job training

All enlisted service members complete basic military training, which includes time spent in a classroom and in the field, and covers tactical and survival skills, physical training, military life and customs, and weapons training. Weapons maintenance technicians in the Military will gain skills through classroom study and on-the-job experience. Job-specific training content may include: * Electronic and mechanical principles and concepts * Use and understanding of schematics, drawings, blueprints, and wiring diagrams * Operation, testing, and maintenance of weapons systems and fire control systems * Operation, use, and maintenance of electronic, electrical, and mechanical test equipment * Principles and concepts of electronics and mechanics * Equipment repair
